Music Hack Tips: FACEBOOK– reactions now rank you higher than likes

Facebook is almost as fluid as the constant rain here in Amsterdam, new changes to the algorithm is happening on a frequent basis. Staying up-to-date on these changes is important as a beginning music artist, learn to hack the system and get your posts seen!

UPDATE! Reactions, on posts, now rank you higher on the newsfeeds of followers than just a thumbs-up.

-But I thought a thumbs-up is a reaction....

A reaction is the "❤️, 😂,😮, 😢, 😡" reactions to posts.

Facebook announced that reactions “will [now] affect post ranking slightly more than Likes” in the news feed algorithm because it indicates a stronger signal for relevant posts or trending posts other should see on their newsfeeds. However, Facebook clarifies that all reactions including temporary ones for holidays such as Mother’s Day will continue to be “weighed equally to one another” and revealed that the “love” heart is “by far the most popular Reaction, consisting of ‘more than half’ of them.”

  • What does this mean for you?

Post content that inflicts strong reactions:

-Best way to receive a reaction is to ask for it. Ask fans to react with a ❤️ if they are digging your new music or event, or ask them to react they way they feel about a certain post. A great way to gather data as well!
